Children will Raise Flag of the Council of Children NGOs
The 4-th camp of children NGOs of Moscow will be open September 28 in the suburbs of Moscow. The aim of the camp is to prepare activists of NGOs for the participation in events connected with forthcoming 60-th anniversary of the victory over the fashism to be celebrated in Russia and in the whole world in May 2005. Doctor of Peace Leonid Roshal, Ekaterina Lakhova, chairman of the committee of the State Duma were invited to meet the participants of camp as the Guests of Honour

Civic Forum "Spirituality instead of Violence"
Consept-dialog, organized by Brahma Kumaris University in Moscow September 15 called on civic society to organize forum "Spirituality instead of Violence". The appeal adopted by a few dozens of participants of the consept-dialog also called on TV producers to mark the International Day of TV (to be celebrated November 21) with no violence on TV screens. Actions in Extreme Situations
The book "Actions in Extreme Situations. Short Instructions to Leaders and Members of Children NGOs" was prepared by the specialists of the Museum of Peacekeeping Operations. The first 120 copies of the book will be published by September 14, 2004 for the distribution among leaders of the Council of Children NGOs of Moscow. The book is based on the experience of the United Nations and gives direct recommendations on the procedures of actions in extreme situations. Free distribution of the book among children NGOs is beeing organized by the Museum of Peacekeeping Operations via Internet.

Terrorist Attack in Beslan. Lessons and Conclusions
The information received over radio and TV is not enough to compile the complete picture of what has happenned in the Secondary School # 1 from September 1 through September 3, 2004. However this information was enough to understand that children as well as adults in Russia are to be prepared for terrorist attacks. So the leaders of children NGOs are to pay special attention to training of children in this specific field. Meanwhile the Council of Veterans of the Museum of Peacekeeping Operations proposed to organize special classes for participants of the 4-th camp of children NGOs to be held from September 28 to October 2, 2004 in the suburbs of Moscow. Movement of Young Peacemakers to the 60-th anniversary of the UN
Council of veterans of the Museum of Peacekeeping Operations has adopted the list of actions and activities to the 60-anniversary of the United Nations to be carried out by young peacemakers in 2004 and 2005. The idea to add the Plan of Activities to the 60-th Anniversary of the UN previously adopted by NGO Council April 28, 2004, was discussed in August 2004. As the result the Museum of Peacekeeping Operations will open the Exhibition "Russian UN Museum" September 5, 2004 at premises of the Historic Museum of Solnechnogorsk (the city of Solnechnogorsk, Krasnaya Street, 74) and will support the conduct a few social and educational projects to be carried out by young peacemakers and Moscow schools of peace. Moral Code and Moral Values Required for Life
In the framework of preparations for the 4-th camp meeting of Moscow children NGOs (September 28 through October 2, 2004) the Movement of Young Peacemakers prepared the home task "Moral Values of a Citizen" for the teams to participate in the event. After doing home work teams of children NGOs will be asked to make show on the stage of the theater, demonstrating one of the moral values by their choice, such as love, charity, faith, unselfishness, tolerance, responsibility and others.

CIS and Peacekeeping
"Put off the Blue Helmets" was the title of the article written by Svetlana Gamova in New Izvestia newspaper. It is well known that Russian blue helmets have saved CIS from fierce national and bloody conflicts of the Yugoslavia type. And now Tbilisi and Kishinev started to say that it is high time for the evacuation of Russian peacekeepers from their zones of responsibility...

Peace Education instead of Violence
Following the proposals to make the project "Children against Violence on TV Screen" more effective the group of activists of the Coordinating Council of the Union "Civic Society to Children of Russia" after the analyses of the situation came to the decision to advice the regional coordinators of the Union to work out their own plans to reinforce the campaign against violence on TV screens". So far over 4 000 signatures were collected in support of the Open Letter to Russian President "Stop the Violence on TV Screens" both in Moscow and in the provinces. The focal point of the provincial campaigns will be the activities in the field of peace education.

Project "Russian Children against Violence on TV Screen"
After publication and dispatch the Project "Children against Violence on TV Screen" by the Coordinating Council of the Union "Civic Society to Children of Russia" the number of signatories in support of the Letter to Russian President doubled at least (see http://www.un-museum.ru/projects/letter/). A lot of proposals to make the project more effective came by internet both from leaders of Russian NGOs and from individual young peacemakers. Principal decision on the ways of imlementation of the project is supposed to be taken July 6, 2004 at the round table to be organized in Moscow by initiators of the project.

Young Peacemakers Have Got Special Assignment for Summer Vocations in Bulgaria and Crimea
The idea to assign special mission to young peacemakers for Summer vocations was formulated by members of the 3-rd Camp of children NGOs held from June 4 to June 10, 2004. In fact most of young peacemakers were already engaged in the activities connected with the campaign "Stop Violence on TV Screen!" in the beginning of the year during collection of signatures of Russian citizens in support of open letter to Vladimir Putin, reelected Russian President. And now it will be the further development of the campaign. In Summer young peacemakers visiting Bulgaria and Crimea's children camps were asked to write compositions (essays) "How can We Stop Violence on TV Screen", to organize meetings with media representatives and to conduct researches on the problem of demonstration of scenes of violence and killing on TV at children prime time.
