Meeting of Soviet and Russian UN veterans
- Meeting of veterans of UN peacekeeping operations is planned for February 1, 2002. It will be organized in the framework of celebration of the 62-nd anniversary of the Military Institute of Foreign Languages at the Sporting Complex of the Central Club of the Soviet Army.

- Over 19 000 Ukrainian peacekeepers participated in UN operations. According to "LIGA" Center, 19 758 Ukrainian servicemen participated in UN peacekeeping operations since July 1992 till October 2001. Nowadays Ukrainian peacekeepers are located in 10 UN missions on four continents. By December 27, 2001 there were 1658 Ukrainian peacekeeprs in UN missions as a whole.

UN Peacekeepers Day in the Ukraine
- Day of UN Peacekeepers will be marked in the Ukraine.The President of the Ukraine have satisfied the request of the Ukrainian Association of Peacekeepers to introduce and mark this holiday June 3 when the Parlement of the Ukraine have decided in 1992 to send the Ukrainian battalion as the contingent of UN peacekeeping Forces to former Yugoslavia.

- Australian Peacekeepers & Peacemakers Association dissiminated December issue of its "Australian Peacekeeper" Journal, containing 20 pages in "doc" format. One of the articles "Australian Defence Force Involvment in Peacemaking and Peacekeeping Operations 1947 - Present" prepared by Paul Copeland depicts the history of Australian participation in UN operations.

- 56 young peacemakers and teachers from 18 secondary schools visited the UN Civil Police Training Center located at the Police Retraining Institute in Domodedovo (Moscow region). The visitors were met by Major-General of internal service Nikolay Gudkov, CO of the Institute. Later on the scholars and teachers were briefed on peace-keeping by Major of internal service Alexander Gurov and by sivpol veterans of Kosovo operation.

- Over 30 secondary schools and gymnasiums participated in Peacemaking Action "Decade of Voluntary Deeds" organized by initiative of Moscow Teacher-Training Institute, Museum of Peace-keeping Operations and supported by UN Information Center in Moscow. The estimated number of volunteers for peace was from 10 000 to 13 000 pupils and teachers in Moscow and Moscow region as a whole.

- Over 60 youth and adults arrived at UN Information Center in Moscow to listen to the final report of the Organizing Committee of the Blue Beret Contest delivered by Alexander Gorelik and Valery Guerguel. As a result of the contest 52 children and youth received the special diploma and souvenirs, while two of the winners were decorated with the honorable badge "Young Peacemaker". The return speech was made by Nalalya Kurbatova, pupil of grade 11 from the Secondary School # 1804.

- Round table of participants of the "Blue Beret" Contest was organized in Moscow. According to the report of Organizing Committee 36 secondary schools have already contributed their works to the Museum (over 50 paintings and over 40 research papers in history of UN peacekeeping in 8 foreign languages). By desicion of Organizing Committee one of the works ("Blue Beret" computer game) was put on the web-site of the Museum for evaluation by the visitors.

- Peacemaking action "Decade of Voluntary Deeds" was the point of discussion of the round table organized at Moscow Teacher Training Institute for school principals. The Decade will be carried out from December 1 to December 10 by the secondary schools and gymnasiums located in Moscow and Moscow region. At the end the discussion the participants were greeted by Ludmila Shilova, director of newly organized Education Center at "Solovetsky Islands". Ludmila Shilova invited school principals to the conference "Solovki Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" to be organized soon.
